「ブリーダーさんって毛色は何を見て判断しているんですか？」
実はお客様から時々いただくご質問です😊
私の場合は体毛の色だけではなく🐶 毛色の色味や変化🐽 鼻の色素🐾 肉球の色素👀 目の色✨ 全体の印象などを総合的に見ながら判断しています。
そして「この色だ！」と自由に名前を付けられるわけではありません。
JKCの血統書は定められた登録カラーの中から申請する仕組みになっています。
そのため本当は「シェーデッド○○」や「グレージュ」「ミルクティー」のように表現したくなる毛色でも血統書には登録できない名称があります。
だからこそ登録カラーの中で最も近い毛色を選んで申請しています。
また子犬は成長とともに毛色が変化することもあるため子犬の頃と成犬では印象が変わる子もいます。
なので私は一頭一頭の成長を見守りながら、その子らしい毛色を丁寧に観察しています😊🐾

How does a breeder determine a puppy’s coat color?
This is a question I sometimes receive from future owners.
When I evaluate coat color, I don’t look only at the coat itself.
I also observe the nose pigment, paw pads, eye color, the overall impression, and how the coat changes as the puppy grows.
Pedigree registration follows the official JKC coat color categories.
Sometimes I feel that names like “Shaded,” “Greige,” or “Milk Tea” describe a puppy’s appearance more naturally, but those names cannot always be used for pedigree registration.
Instead, I carefully choose the official registered color that is the closest match.
Because puppies can change as they mature, I continue observing each puppy’s development before making my final judgment.
