犬種について聞かれることがあります。
「イタグレってどんな犬ですか？」
「ウィペットってどんな性格ですか？」
でも実は、この質問が一番難しいかもしれません。
犬種ごとの特徴や傾向はあります。

イタリアングレーハウンドらしさ。
ウィペットらしさ。
確かにあると思います。
でも毎日たくさんの犬たちと暮らしていると、それだけでは説明できないことが本当にたくさんあります。
同じイタグレでも走るのが大好きな子もいれば、のんびり過ごすのが好きな子もいる。
慎重な子もいれば初対面から尻尾を振って近づいていく子もいる。
同じ犬種でも、みんな違う。
だから私は犬種を知ることも大切だと思うけれど、それ以上に「その子自身」を知ることを大切にしたいと思っています😊
犬種は入り口。
でも、その先にいるのは世界にひとりだけの、その子です🐾

“What are Italian Greyhounds like?”
“What is a Whippet’s personality like?”
To be honest, those are some of the hardest questions to answer.
Breed traits and tendencies certainly exist.
But after living with many dogs, I’ve learned that every dog is unique.
Even within the same breed, some love to run, some prefer to relax, some are cautious, and others make friends with everyone they meet.
Knowing the breed is important.
But getting to know the individual dog is even more important.
A breed may be the starting point, but every dog has their own personality, preferences, and story. 🐾
