去勢・避妊については、本当に色んな考え方があると思っています。
病気の予防。
望まない繁殖を防ぐこと。
生活のしやすさ。
もちろん、そういった大切な理由があることも理解しています。
でも私は「絶対にしなければいけない」とも思っていません。
犬にも持って生まれたホルモンバランスや成長があります。
特にイタグレのようなサイトハウンドは体の細さや筋肉、成長バランスも繊細な犬種だと感じています。
だからこそメリットだけではなくデメリットやリスクも知った上で、その子に合った選択をしてほしいと思っています。

・早期去勢避妊による変化
・尿漏れ
・体重増加
・ホルモンバランス
・性格変化
・麻酔リスク

色んな話がありますが結局は “その子自身” を見て考えることが大切なのかなと私は感じています。
これは「しない方がいい」と言いたいわけではありません。
どちらを選ぶにしても、ちゃんと考えた上での選択であってほしい。

About spaying and neutering,
I believe there are many different perspectives.
There are certainly important reasons behind it:
preventing illness, avoiding unwanted breeding, and making daily life easier.
At the same time, I don’t personally believe it is always an absolute necessity.
Dogs are born with their own hormones, growth balance, and natural development.
Especially with sighthounds like Italian Greyhounds, I feel they are a very delicate breed when it comes to body structure, muscles, and development.
That’s why I believe it’s important to understand not only the benefits, but also the possible risks and disadvantages before making a decision.
No matter which choice is made,
I hope it is a thoughtful decision made for that individual dog.
