同じイタリアングレーハウンドでも見ていると少しずつ“タイプの違い”を感じることがあります。
今回はあくまでニベアなりに感じている「ヨーロッパタイプ」と「アメリカタイプ」の違いをまとめてみました🐾

ヨーロッパタイプはシルエットや曲線が綺麗で、どこか芸術的な空気感。
線の細さや、しなやかでエレガントな雰囲気に惹かれます。

一方でアメリカタイプは骨量や芯の強さを感じる子が多く“走れそうな身体”という印象。
細いだけではない、しっかりとした存在感を感じることがあります。

もちろん実際には両方の特徴を持っている子も多く完全に分かれているわけではありません。
だからこそ、「どちらが正しい」ではなく、それぞれ違う魅力があると思っています。
そしてニベア自身、両方の良さを感じているからこそ、その魅力をどう残していけるのか、日々考えながらブリーディングをしています。

Even within Italian Greyhounds,
I sometimes feel there are subtle differences in “type.”
In this post, I wanted to share
my personal perspective on what I feel are
“European-type” and “American-type” Italian Greyhounds 🐾

To me, European-type dogs often have
beautiful silhouettes and elegant curves,
with an almost artistic presence.
Their refined lines and graceful movement
feel very delicate and elegant.
On the other hand, American-type dogs often feel
more solid in structure, with stronger bone and core strength.
They give the impression of a body built for movement —
not just delicate, but powerful and balanced.
Of course, many Italian Greyhounds today
carry traits from both types,
so these categories are never completely separate.
That’s why I don’t believe one is “correct” over the other.
I simply feel they each have their own unique beauty.
Personally, I’m fascinated by both,
and I often think about how to preserve those qualities
while continuing my own breeding journey.
This is simply my personal perspective and feeling 🐾
