こんにちは。 Cuddly Animal（カドゥリーアニマル）です😊 夏になると、「暑い日は散歩の時間をずらしましょう」というお話をよく耳にします。 もちろんそれも大切ですが、我が家では気温だけでなく『地面』の状態も大切にしています。 今回ご紹介する内容は、我が家の犬舎で日々観察している様子をもとにしたお話です。 犬の暑さへの反応や過ごし方は、犬種・年齢・体格・性格・体調・生活環境などによって異なります。 「うちの子はどうかな？」という視点で読んでいただけたら嬉しいです。 暑い日は、夕方になって涼しく感じても、地面には昼間の熱が残っていることがあります。 犬は人より地面に近い場所で生活しているため、我が家では犬たちを外へ出す前に、実際に地面を手で触って温度を確認しています。 そのため、暑い日は夕方よりも朝一番に遊ばせることが多くあります。 夜の間に地面が冷え、気温もまだ上がりきっていない時間帯なので、犬たちも元気いっぱいに走り回ることができます。 毎日観察していると、暑い日の犬たちは自然と行動が変わります。 お気に入りの日陰へ移動したり、吠えることが少なくなったり、動きを減らして体力を温存したり…。 イタリアングレーハウンドたちは、細かい砂を掘って少しでも涼しい場所を作ろうとする姿もよく見られます。 最初は「また穴を掘ってるなぁ（笑）」と思っていましたが、今では犬たちなりの暑さ対策の一つなのかなと感じています。 犬たちは言葉で「暑い」と伝えることはできません。 だからこそ、毎日の小さな変化や行動を観察し、その子に合った環境を整えてあげることが大切だと思っています。 犬たちは毎日、たくさんのことを教えてくれます。 これからも犬たちの様子をしっかり観察しながら、一頭一頭が安心して快適に過ごせる環境づくりを続けていきたいと思います🐶🌿

We Pay More Attention to the Ground Than the Air Temperature in Summer At Cuddly Animal, we observe our dogs every day and continue learning from their behavior. On hot summer days, we pay close attention not only to the air temperature but also to the temperature of the ground before letting our dogs outside. Even if the evening feels cooler, the ground may still hold heat from the daytime. That is why we often choose early mornings, when both the air and the ground are cooler. We have also noticed that dogs naturally change their behavior during hot weather. They look for shade, become quieter, rest more, and Italian Greyhounds often dig small holes to find cooler ground. These observations are based on our own kennel experience. Every dog is different, so we encourage owners to watch their own dogs carefully and provide an environment that suits their individual needs. Our dogs teach us something new every day, and we will continue doing our best to create a safe, comfortable, and happy environment for each one of them.
